Plan a spa day at The Spa at Charleston Place, then head to King Street to shop the upscale boutiques and cute shops. Even though we travel through Mobile, Alabama quite a bit, Fairhope wasn’t on our radar until a couple of years ago. And, after one stay, we are looking forward to going back. Fairhope’s adorable downtown and waterfront sunsets set the stage for a great place to relax and reconnect. Stay at the historic Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa, a Marriott Autograph property right on the Mobile Bay that’s been welcoming guests since 1847. Its a spot you may have never heard of, but the list of celebrity guests is extensive including the likes of Zac Brown, Bob Hope, George Bush, Robert DeNiro, and Bo Jackson.

Stroll through local restaurants, art galleries, and cute boutiques downtown. Or, for a more active trip, take a kayak tour of Mobile Bay. Then feast on fresh Gulf seafood at Panini Pete’s. End your day with dinner at our favorite seafood spot on the coast, Felix’s Fish Camp. Then, watch the sunset at the Fairhope Pier.

6. Fredericksburg, Texas

We took a day trip to Fredericksburg when we were in San Antonio and I immediately knew it would be a great spot for a girls weekend. Fredericksburg is the wine region of Texas Hill Country and perfect for a sophisticated and leisurely girls’ trip. Stay at the charming Hoffman Haus, where Southern elegance meets modern comfort, and start your day with a luxurious treatment at Nature’s Spa at Hoffman Haus.

Spend your afternoons browsing boutique shops and antique stores along Main Street, followed by fine dining at Vaudeville, a French bistro with Texas flair. Of course, you’ll probably want to hit some of the wineries. We didn’t get to try them all, but our favorites were Becker Vineyards and Fat Ass Ranch & Winery. Don’t miss a hike at Enchanted Rock, for the breathtaking panoramic views. With its combination of award-winning wines and charming German-inspired shops, this Texas gem is one of the best trips for girl groups.

St. Simons Island, off Georgia’s southern coast, is the perfect destination for a girlfriends’ getaway. Book your stay at The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort, for stunning oceanfront views and luxurious amenities.
