Why Visit Ocean Springs, MS?

Ocean Springs, MS is one of our favorite coastal towns. In fact, it’s been a second home to me since I was a kid and I love it so much, I want to share its magic with you. The historic downtown district is home to over 100 shops, restaurants, and art galleries that are perfect for exploring. All with the beach just a few blocks away.

Even before being named Best Small Town for Shopping or Most Beautiful Coastal Town, Ocean Springs was a popular getaway spot. Elvis used to escape here when his career was first taking off and Al Capone even kept a house on Davis Bayou to quietly bring in alcohol during prohibition.

So, let’s dive into the best boutique hotels, charming bed-and-breakfasts, and upscale vacation rentals that promise to make your Ocean Springs retreat nothing short of magical.

The Roost Boutique Hotel was named the Most Beautiful Hotel in Mississippi by Architectural Digest, and with good reason. This thoughtfully restored historic property features reclaimed architectural details and decor inspired by the Mississippi coast. Front Beach Cottages is a collection of four individually themed cottages, each offering a full kitchen and private porch, just a short walk from the beach. Front Beach is a locals favorite, and I’ll admit I’m partial to this location because our house is along this stretch of sand. Though the cottages are not beach facing, they are a 2 minute walk (at the most). Rent a fire pit on the beach and play volleyball, fish off the pier, or just soak up the rays.

8. The Cottages of Rosetti Park

These well-appointed cottages offer private, home-like accommodations with full kitchens and living spaces. Choose The Art House or The Gallery. The homes are both decked out with very cool wall art and share a lovely common courtyard. These homes do sit right next to the train tracks, so be aware that you may have some noise throughout the day (and night). The train is part of the charm of Ocean Springs, so its not necessarily a deterrent.
