The Best Restaurants in Amelia Island
Amelia Island is a dining paradise with options ranging from fine dining to casual waterfront eateries. Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a seasoned local, this guide will help you explore the island’s unmatched restaurant experiences. Let’s dive into the best restaurants in Amelia Island, organized by cuisine and specialty.

Amelia Island is one of our favorite beach getaways. Located in northern Florida on the Atlantic, the island has more in common with the Georgia and South Carolina low-country than it does with the typical white sand beaches and high rise condos you’ll find in other parts of Florida. We make the trip almost every year and have tried a ton of restaurants on the island. This guide will give you our list of favorite restaurants in Amelia Island.

The Best Restaurants in Amelia Island
There’s no shortage of fantastic places to eat on Amelia Island. Known for its fresh seafood and eclectic flavors, the island’s restaurants ahve something for everyone. Our favorites are The Patio at 5th & Ash for live music and fantastic craft cocktails, Timoti’s for casual seafood, and Lagniappe for cajun dishes. Read on for the rest of our list.
Salt

Located in the Ritz Carlton, Salt is a AAA 5-Diamond gem specializing in fresh seafood. The à la carte menu features delights like the Salt Brick Steak and Artisan Cheese Experience. With stunning Atlantic Ocean views and refreshing cocktails, it’s the perfect spot for unforgettable celebrations.
David’s Restaurant & Lounge

Amelia Island’s classic steakhouse always gets rave reviews. This is a white tablecloth, extensive wine list, gourmet cuts of Wagyu beef kind or place. David’s is an excellent choice for birthdays and anniversary celebrations, with upscale service and intimate private dining rooms.
If you aren’t in the mood for steak, you can choose from delicious dishes like Lobster Bisque and Chilean Sea Bass. Elevate your meal with exquisite options like Caviar, Grilled Octopus, and Escargot. But, whatever you do, save room for dessert. The Creme Brulee and Affogato are amazing.
Burlingame

Owner and executive chef, Chad Livingston is originally from Fernandina Beach. After perfecting his craft for several years, he moved home where he worked at Salt. Lucky for us, he opened Burlingame in a charming 1947 cottage, giving the interior a sleek modern makeover.
Burlingame’s seasonal menu features favorites like Seafood Gumbo, Blue Crab Cakes and Lamb Bolognese. The relaxed environment and outdoor seating make it ideal for drinks and dinner with friends. Service is also top notch.
Lagniappe

Lagniappe is a Creole term for “a little something extra” and that’s what this place delivers. Executive Chef Brett Heritage blends Southern refinement with French Creole for a unique, elevated menu. You’ll find standout dishes like Salmon Brulee and Lamb Lollipops. But, its not all high brow eating. The L Burger is fantastic and the Po Boy is made with authentic Leidenheimer bread from New Orleans.
My cajun roots were doing a little dance over the Shrimp and Grits. It was absolutely delicious. With a vibrant cocktail bar, extensive wine list, and a welcoming atmosphere, Lagniappe is perfect for special occasions or a relaxed night out. Private dining options, including a courtyard, make it great for events like rehearsal dinners or similar events.
Kitchen 251

Located in the Amelia Island marina, Kitchen 251 needs to be on your list if you love seafood. Chef Michael McCarroll, brings his Louisiana roots and over 30 years of culinary experience to Amelia Island where he infuses a touch of Cajun flair into his dishes.
Dishes like Grouper Tacos, Shrimp and Grits, and Smoked Fish Dip make this a locals favorite. Non-seafood lovers can go for Slow Smoked Pork or Gourmet Burger. Definitely check out the blackboard for the day’s specials featuring the catch of the day. The open-air atmosphere with gorgeous waterfront views is perfect for happy hour or a casual meal.
Timoti’s Seafood Shak

We tried Timoti’s on our very first visit to Amelia Island and loved it so much that we eat here at least once on every visit. This casual dining spot is famous for its seafood basket and hush puppies. Baskets are made to order and can be fried, blackened, or grilled. And don’t sleep on their lobster rolls, crab burgers, and poke bowls. Everything is fresh, and everything is delicious.
There’s no inside seating. Order inside and then head back outside to the covered patio to find a seat. Tables are picnic style so you’ll likely be sharing with other diners. We’ve met some great people from as far away at The Netherlands while waiting for our name to be called at the window. Put Timoti’s at the top of your list of must-try restaurants in Amelia Island. You won’t be disappointed.
The Surf Restaurant & Bar

A surf-themed casual hangout, The Surf has been an Amelia Island institution since 1957. This is the quintessential beach bar and restaurant with live music, ocean breezes and casual seafood bites. The Patio at 5th and Ash

The Patio at 5th and Ash is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Amelia Island. We loved it so much the first time we tried it, we went back two days later. This charming family owned American bistro has a diverse menu featuring everything from seafood and steaks to pasta and daily specials.
Sit outside in the courtyard under the giant oaks dripping with Spanish moss and twinkling lights to enjoy the live music.
